As the 2015 election for American University SPA begins one thing is clear. Puppies seem poised to take center stage as the most important and divisive issue on campus. Today’s surprise early announcement by candidate David Shadburn that he is running for all SPA positions came with another surprise. “I plan to put a puppy in the hands of every student before the end of 2015.” said David Shadburn in his announcement speech earlier today. With Mr. Shadburn establishing himself early as the pro-puppy candidate other candidates may be forced into taking an anti-puppy stance.

 

While no one else has announced there candidacy for all of SPA yet, many believe that perennial candidate Mass Avenue Walk Sign will announce his candidacy within the coming days. Sources close to the Mass Avenue Walk Sign campaign say that the campaign has decided to wait to announce there candidacy. These same sources also worried that they would be boxed into the anti-puppy stance saying “You can’t have more than one pro-puppy candidate. That’s just absurd.” While the campaign has only just begun, it is certain to be a fascinating campaign, with puppies front and center the entire time.
